Season 0 ends on 31 August. Season 1 starts the next morning.
Kezaco has been running without a finish line. Points have only ever gone one way: up. That changes at the end of this month.
Season 0 closes at the end of Monday 31 August 2026. Season 1 begins on Tuesday 1 September.
Why we're resetting the leaderboard
A leaderboard that never resets stops being a competition and becomes a seniority list.
Think about what it looks like to someone who found Kezaco last week. The player at the top has been solving a puzzle a day since we launched. They have thousands of points banked. Our newcomer could guess correctly on the first clue, every single day, for months, and still be looking at the back of someone's head. The gap isn't skill. It's a head start measured in calendar days.
That's a bad message to send to a new player, and it's not much fun for the people at the top either. Winning by having arrived first is a hollow kind of winning.
So we're doing what leagues and sports have always done. We're drawing a line, calling it a season, and starting again.
What actually happens on 1 September
Everyone's points go back to zero. The overall leaderboard, and the leaderboard inside every league you're a member of, starts from a blank page.
Nothing else changes. Same puzzle every day. Same five clues. Same rule that fewer clues means more points. Your account, your leagues and your friends all stay exactly where they are.
Season 0 doesn't disappear
The Season 0 leaderboard stays online. Where you finished, how many points you earned, who took the top spot — all of it stays viewable, permanently, as a closed record. Season 0 becomes history rather than homework.
If you spent the last few months grinding your way up that table, the table is still there. It just stops moving.
Three weeks left to sort out your Season 0 finish
There's still real time on the clock. If you're a handful of points off a place you'd like to hold, the next three weeks are when you get it, because after 31 August that number is fixed forever.
And if you're a long way down the table and had written this season off — you now have a hard reset coming, with a date on it. Season 0 has three weeks left. Season 1 has everything.
